Client Situation

You have been asked to create a slidedeck portfolio of your visual communication projects, but it needs to be web-based. Delivering a printed portfolio will not work in many cases. So you will place each project on a PowerPoint slide and save the presentation as a PDF to insert in your SlideShare account at: www.slideshare.net. Then you can use the embed code to embed the slide deck in your own blog post. What a great way to show off all your projects in one compact space in a blog post.

Tools: Microsoft PowerPoint.

Instructions

Follow these steps to complete the project. Watch the video tutorials below, and remember you can pause and replay them as needed. You may also schedule tutoring sessions as needed.
1. DESIGN YOUR LAYOUT Use PowerPoint to design your slides. You may place JPEGs of your projects in the order you feel will show off your best work first. Keep in mind it is always best to show your versatility unless you know the exact preferences of your potential employer. Showcasing a varied portfolio shows you have  a variety of skills in many areas. Employers like to hire versatile and skilled employees. Be sure you include all your projects. You may also include the activities which you have completed throughout the course, but this is optional. If you have a strong activity that would make a nice addition to your portfolio, by all means, put it in!
2. INTRO & CONCLUSION Create an attractive and inviting landing slide (introduction) to set the theme and communicate a message. Create a conclusion slide that calls to action, asks a question, or summarizes your theme.
